Required Reading

The Athanasian Creed was written after Athanasius' death. So it was not written by him, but named after him, since he is the great defender of the doctrine of the trinity. Many believe that Augustine wrote the Athanasian creed, because it contains much of Augustine's language for the Trinity. Read it. You will find it here:

Recommended Reading

No recommended reading -- This weeks lesson we will read excerpts from Augustine's "On the Trinity" and his "The City of God". Both are too large to read in a week.
The themes we will cover are "God and Government" and "Doctrine of God". Plan on lots of class discussion.
